Case Latore’s grand slam highlighted a 17-run third inning as Avonworth Varsity Baseball made short work of host East Allegheny Tuesday afternoon. Coming up the bases full, a 6-0 Lopes lead, and 1 rbi already to his credit, Latore attacked the first pitch he saw, crushing the ball to center for his second home run in as many games. Latore and Alex Rowe finished the 3-inning game 2 for 2, and Declan Ehrin scored 3 runs (quite a feat when done in one inning). Cooper Scharding struck out 8 Wildcats and allowed 2 hits.

Avonworth hosts East A Wednesday. Senior Night festivities will begin at 4PM, with the game set to start at 4:30. Come out and celebrate Declan, Michael, Mason, Alex and Sam and their contributions to Avonworth baseball!
